Heroes

I recently read an article that asked people "who is your hero?". That got me thinking and so I asked you this morning and I got some great calls. Your heroes included:

God, Jesus, Dad, Mom, Daughters, Sons, Sisters, Brothers, Church members and friends.

The calls talked about common folk that loved Jesus, loved them and loved others! Many of the calls made me want to get to know these people better and I was grateful for the memories you shared about the ones waiting for us in heaven.

The calls also made me reflect on my heroes. My Grandparents including my Pa, my Dad and Mom, and my Wife who has spent so many years caring for the elderly. My sister is a hero, working hard as a teacher to help educate the next generation . My heroes, common folk, that love(d) Jesus, love(d) me and love(d) others!

Vote for the Dove Awards

The 40th Dove Awards take place in Nashville in April and this year, your voice counts. Fan votes will play a role in the "New Artist of the Year" and "Artist of the Year" categories. Here's the details:

This year, for the first time, fans will become stakeholders in the Dove Awards with an opportunity to vote for the winner of Artist of the Year along with New Artist of the Year, which includes nominees Addison Road, Francesca Battistelli, Fee, Jonathan Nelson, Remedy Drive, Chris Sligh and Tenth Avenue North. Fan voting, which will be conducted through the Gospel Music Channel website, gospelmusicchannel.com, and at doveawards.com, will open on Feb. 26 – the same day online voting opens for GMA members. The cumulative fan vote, which will continue through the live Dove Awards broadcast on Apr. 23, will account for one-third of the total vote in those two categories.

Northern Hemisphere Hoodie-Hoo Day
When : Always on February 20
On this winter day, people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant "Hoodie-Hoo".
It is a day to chase away winter and bring in spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere are sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun.
